Abstract

Groups can be hard to understand, but if you know that they act nicely on a metric space, one now has extra tools to unravel the mysteries. Similarly, finding a path for queer liberation in mathematics can be daunting, but group action provides us with additional tools to navigate this journey. In this talk, I will explore both of these phenomena.
