Geometric structures and higher Teichmüller theory

  • Fanny Kassel

Abstract

Felix Klein’s influential vision of geometry includes the existence of some model geometries which various manifolds may locally carry. This is encoded nowadays by the notion of a (G,X)-structure. We will discuss some recent results around the existence and deformation theory of (G,X)-structures, including links with higher Teichmüller theory.
